 CAPTAINING GUIDELINES
The following guidelines and rules apply to all USTA or CCTA teams that are Sponsored by WCRC & WCTC:

    1. All Captains must attend or send a representative to a court scheduling meeting in order to secure courts for home matches. If you are the Captain of a team, you will be contacted automatically via email when a Captain’s meeting is scheduled. If you are in doubt about scheduling, check the wcrc.net web site.

    2. All team members, including Captains, must be a member in good standing of WCRC. This applies regardless of whether the individual is playing a match at home or away. A member in good standing is a person who is a current member of WCRC or has paid a single event fee. Captains can check the web site, www.wcrc.net, for player status.

    3. All team members should, but are not required to, have a valid WCTC court usage card. If a team member does not have a valid court usage card, the appropriate fee shall be paid prior to playing a home match.

    4. When home matches are played at Heather Farms, prior to the start of match the Captain is responsible for providing a written list of players to the office, along with the players’ court usage numbers and any fees owed for players without a court usage card. Failure to provide the list and any fees due could result in immediate loss of courts causing the team to default.

    5. When home matches are played using Walnut Creek City courts other than Heather Farms (i.e. Larkey, Rudgear, NorthGate), the Captain is responsible for picking up a “Reserved Court” sign from the Heather Farms office and posting it on the appropriate courts at least 24 hours in advance of the match.

    6. If a make-up home match date is needed, the Captain must contact the WCTC (Heather Farms) to secure another date. WCTC will allow a Captain to hold two tentative dates but encourages the Captain to contact them immediately upon hearing from your opponents so the unused date can be put back on the calendar for other teams.

    7. If you are in the middle of playing a home match and it begins to rain, or some other reason causes your match to be delayed, you must check with the WCTC (Heather Farms) office to see if there is another team’s home match following yours. If there is, you may not be able to restart your match if there is a chance you won’t be off the courts by the time the next match is scheduled. In this instance, you will have to contact WCTC for another date. (See #6 above.)

    8. In the event that a Captain has any team members who are not WCRC members, the Captain will be contacted and given 7 days to bring his/her team into compliance with the rule. If the Captain does not comply, he/she will immediately forfeit any reserved court times at Heather Farm, Larkey, Rudgear and Northgate. If the Captain brings the team into compliance after the 7 days, courts will be reassigned by the USTA Coordinator based on availability.
