| In the WCRC’s long Calcutta history, there have been very few instances where the team with the most collective talent ends up winning the tournament. The 2003 edition was one of those exceptions as the team of Chris Ramsower-Pearlstein and Brad Belton overcame their highest in the tournament –15 handicap to win six consecutive matches, including a victory over the scrappy tandem of Shari Huber and Leonard Young in the final. |

The event, held May 9-10, began Friday night with over 100 players, fans and friends attending the Party and Team Auction held at the Shadelands Arts Center. With the help of master auctioneer Nat Bitton, a record $3,800 was raised in the Silent Auction, which included two teams that commanded $300+ bids.
